You know you're from Long Island when...

Lite annorlunda inlägg idag!
 
-Ralphs is part of your daily diet in the summer.
-You pay with a $20 bill for the LIRR and get $10 in gold coins back.
- You have winters like Canada and summers like Florida.
-When you buy a bagel they always put a ridiculous amount of cream cheese or butter on it.
-You see a McDonald's, Wendy's, BurgerKing, and Taco Bell all next to each other.
- Everything is a 15 minute drive away from where you are.
-You know what j-walking is.
-it's always rush hour.
-You know how to pronounce Wantagh, Massapequa, Huntington,Patchogue,Ronkonkoma,Mattituck etc.
-You've missed the "drunk train" at 2:40am outa Penn and had to wait till 5:30am for a train home.
- Rockville Centre is the only logical place to go for a good night at the bar. (well clubbing on the island)
-One of the hardest choices of your day is which mall to shop at or where to get food.
- There's AT LEAST 3 nail salons in your town alone and basically no one paints their own nails. (cheap enough)
-You know what a "hero" is.
-You believe that lacrosse should have it's own professional league.
-Two words: All American. (the one and only All American Burger Place, dessutom finns den i Massapequa!)
-You live on arizona ice tea, redbull & dunkin or starbucks.
-There's a parade for almost everything.
- You assume everyone knows where Long Island is.
-It's completely normal to have 6 pizzerias within walking distance.
-Half your friends are Italian but most people have at least 2 different nationalities in their family.
- You know the difference between the #631 and the #516. (area codes...)
-Going to taco bell after a night of drinking is the norm. (and theres always a damn line for the drive in)
-You go to Splish Splash and get annoyed at all the camp kids there.
-You see Dairy Queen commercials but yet there's none around.
- You wait "ON" a line...not "in" it.
-Strangers always assume you live in the City.
-You go anywhere else and the bagels just aren't good...
-You never, EVER want to "change at Jamaica." (no not the island, Jamaica in Queens..)
-High School sports are important and tailgating is part of the games.
-You've tailgated for concerts at the Jones Beach Theater parking lot.
-The NYC skyline always makes you think "I'm home, and I fucking love NY" whenever returning from a trip/vacation.
- Wandering around Fire Island trashed is an acceptable plan for a summer night!
- You say that you are going to "the outlets", Tanger is implied.
-You or someone you know attends Albany, Buffalo, Binghamton, Cortland, Plattsburgh, FIT, Oneonta, New Paltz etc.. aka. state schools.
-Flip-flops are normal, even in January (and ugg slippers as well)
-You go to the bar and see your high school teachers.
-You curse. A lot.
-You can't understand why a diner would ever close.
-Getting drunk on the beach in the summer is totally normal.
-You can't go to a public beach like Tobay without seeing at least 10 people you know.
-You know the location of 6 malls and a dozen McDonalds and 36 7-11's.
-It's not acceptable to take the bus to school...it's just not cool. Mostly because everyone gets a car when they're like 16/17.
-You don't go to Manhattan, you go to "The City".
-You heard people say "strong Island", use "mad" to emphasize things such as "that movie was mad good", you  think of Montauk when someone says "the end", girls use "like" waaay too much, you call your friends bitches, hoes, bros, suhn, etc. and you don't say "what's up" you say "what's good".
-Everyone in your town knows everyones business even though it's big.
-You've had drug dogs go through your school and seen kids get arrested at school...yet NOT living in the ghetto.
-It's super typical to see girls wear burberry rain boots and jackets, Michael Kors bags, tory burch shoes, yoga pants, ugg boots, pandora bracelets, flip flops, any school related shirts etc.
-year around tans and having super long hair is very typical.
-It's normal to walk your dog and smell weed in the neighborhood.
-There are cops everywhere which is both good and bad.
-You can't go to the gym without seeing someone you know.
-Four Lokos are legal and you know that no one can really drink more than one.
-You've been to a house party with several hundred people.
-You drink natty's even though they taste like water.
-You're obsessed with cute cafe's and fro yo places.
-Your sub teachers are most likely young and hot.
-We have our own News Channel because there is so much going on with all the millions of people on the whole Island.
-You know which public schools are good and which towns have bad ones where most kids attend Private schools.
-You've seen a news truck in the traffic several times.
-Everyone has an iphone, everyone used to have a blackberry.
-You love the cheese cake factory.
-You hate people from Jersey..

Sku kunna fortsätta FOREVER...in other words saknar jag Long Island och hela NY och tänkte laga några greijjer om stället där jag bott ett år och som jag har spenderat några somrar på och första gången jag var där minns jag inte för att jag var så liten så det är som mitt hem, lika som finland once again men som mina kompisar sku säga är jag en inner New Yorker och tänkte lite share fun facts om hur vi tänker och vad som är typiskt för männskor från Long Island, hoppas nån orkka följa med haha!:)
